BOARD MEMBERS

Arthur G. Soto

Arthur G. Soto was elected to the Passaic Board of Education in April 2017 and was selected to serve as Board President in May 2019. Previously, Commissioner Soto has served the public on several boards including the ABC Board, the Passaic County Board of Elections, the Passaic Parking Authority, and most recently, on the Passaic Redevelopment Board.

Commissioner Soto is a firm believer in public school education, having attended and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Paterson NJ. He also attended Rutgers-Newark, first as a Comp Sci major before switching over to History. He credits his success in the marketplace to two factors: his parents’ involvement and constant encouragement throughout grade and high school, and the teachers that challenged him during the same period. This, along with self determination, are the factors that can propel a student to great success in life.

Arthur is married and has two sons. He, along with his family, has lived in the city since 2002. He is also the pastor of Heaven’s Gate Christian Fellowship and a chaplain in the Passaic Fire Department.
