Each child will receive a monthly log in which they can record books read at home.  The children are encouraged to read many books at home.  The teacher will give the student a coupon for a free ice cream (redeemable at Chevy’s or Applebee’s, once a month) when the student returns the log with a minimum of ten books read.  The child that participates will also receive a certificate of recognition.  At the end of the year the class with the highest amount of books read will win an ice cream party (frozen yogurt and fruit).  At the end of the year each child that participated in the program will receive a certificate and a special pencil.  Please encourage your child to read.  Last year the students read over 4000 books.  Let’s top that with more this year!

Bienvenidos a nuestro Programa de Lectura de la Escuela Vincent Capuana #15 llamado “Helados por Libros”  Helados por libros es un estimulante programa de lectura que apoya la filosofía de nuestra escuela “Enfoque en la lectura”.  Hay tres cosas que los padres pueden hacer para ayudar a sus hijos(as) en casa LEER, LEER y LEER. 

Cada estudiante va  recibir mensualmente una planilla donde se registrarán los libros leídos en casa. Se anima a los(as) niños(as) a leer muchos libros en casa. El/La maestro(a) le dará al estudiante un cupón para recibir un helado gratis (en Chevy’s o Applebee’s, un vez al mes) cuando el estudiante traiga su planilla con un mínimo de diez libros leídos.  El/La niño(a) que participe también recibirá un certificado de reconocimiento.  Al final del año la clase con mayor cantidad de libros leídos recibirá una fiesta de helado (yogurt congelado y fruta).  Al final del año cada estudiante que participó en el programa recibirá un certificado y un lápiz especial.  ¡Por favor animen a su hijo(a) a leer!  El año pasado los estudiantes leyeron más de 4000 libros.  Vamos tratar de leer más.
